Bike Library Opens
New York State Parks and the Natural Heritage Trust have partnered to provide park patrons with free access to bicycles and bike-based programming at the Shirley Chisholm State Park Bike Library. Visitors can borrow bikes from the library and utilize them to explore all 10 miles of trails throughout the park.
The fully refurbished bicycles, which have been removed from the waste stream, are available in all sizes to accommodate every member of your family! The bikes are suitable for safely traveling the park terrain and are equipped with quick release seat posts for ease of adjustment, as well as water bottle cages. Every rider is provided with a well-fitting helmet.
The friendly Bike Library staff is on-site and available to provide basic bike safety training as well as bike maintenance and repair.
Visit The Bike Library at either of its two locations within the park – found inside each of the park’s main entrances. The library offers loaner bikes for all ages Thursday through Sunday, May through October. Visit the Shirley Chisholm State Park website for more information.
