  • Title: Connect Kids Program Coordinator

    Summary:
    This is slated to be a one-year position but could potentially be extended. The Connect Kids Program Coordinator will manage the Connect Kids Field Trip Transportation Grant and the Connect Kids SWIMS Program. The role of this position will be to coordinate the startup of the SWIMS Program and transition both programs out of the Stewardship Bureau and into the Bureau of Grants at NYS Parks. Connect Kids is a reimbursement grant program that provides opportunities for schools and other eligible applicants to visit state and federal lands in NYS and have the allowable transportation costs and other associated program fees reimbursed approved sites throughout the state.

  • Title: Hourly Fish and Wildlife Technician
    Agency: NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC)

    Summary:
    The Hourly Fish and Wildlife Technician helps implement the St. Lawrence Habitat Management Project. From early April until late October or November of each year, under the supervision of the project manager, this position will assist with the operation and maintenance of several Habitat Improvement Projects along the St. Lawrence River in St. Lawrence County, NY. This position also supports management activities at the 4,000-acre Wilson Hill Wildlife Management Area, and at various ecological or recreational-based amenities located in the St. Lawrence-FDR power project and vicinity. These activities include outdoor work, sometimes in extreme or inclement weather, and indoor office/lab/janitorial/maintenance shop-type assignments.

  • Title: Stewardship Crew Leader

    Location: Rockefeller State Park Preserve (Pleasantville, NY)

    Summary:
    The Stewardship Crew Leader implements the flora stewardship program at the Rockefeller State Park Preserve. The Stewardship Crew Leader, under the direction of the Preserve Manager and the Natural Resource Specialist, is responsible for supporting ecological stewardship, with specific focus on flora management and conservation. Qualified candidates should have a well-developed knowledge of native and invasive flora, as well as the appropriate methods to be used for removing invasive species and propagating native species. Together with the Natural Resource Specialist, the Stewardship Crew Leader will help to coordinate vegetation management with the Preserve’s maintenance team and partners, as well as recruiting and overseeing seasonal stewards, interns and volunteers to complete stewardship projects in the Preserve.
